(More customer reviews)This blender is strong, powerful and FAST. The motor spins at 45,000 RPM and makes fast work of any blending job. The connection between the motor and blending jar is metal to metal (NO PLASTIC drive parts). The price is right, check out the warranty 3 years on motor and 2 years parts and labor, but it's built for commercial use and the way I use it - I expect it to last a long long time.
A huge advantage to me was the fact that it is only 18.5 inches tall (with the lid on, the 18" measurement is without the lid). This allows it to sit under my upper cupboards, neither the VitaMix or Blendtec would fit when assembled.
The motor has all the power you need, but is a bit noisy - I have to wait for a TV commercial or get dirty looks from my wife. Yet it is quieter than some other blenders because of the rubber cushion between the motor base and where the blending jar sits (which is removable and easy to clean).
The blending jar is big enough to really be useful. I like to make blender - ice cream - and can store a 7 days worth in the freezer from a single batch. While there is a hole in the top of the lid, I no longer use it as there is a certain splatter factor that comes with a blender that runs this strong and fast ;->
My blender ice cream, ½ cup of sugar free French vanilla coffee creamer, 1.5 cups of milk, ¼ cup Amaretto, frozen strawberries. I take out around 15 or 20 strawberries (depending on size) and allow them to partially defrost (still frozen in the center) this is necessary so it does not freeze up and not blend correctly with just a few berries. Put the milk, creamer and amaretto in the blending jar, add the partially defrosted berries, cover and blend, add milk if too thick to blend correctly. Once the concoction is blending smoothly add a couple hard frozen berries at a time to thicken as much as you would like. I use the reusable zip lock 1 cup plastic containers and fill about ¾ of the way to store in the freezer. Yummy

Wolfgang Puck Citrus Juicer Review

(More customer reviews)This is my first electric citrus juicer. It seemed to work okay in the first few weeks but now it doesn't work well at all. I put it away and may just throw it away. The Wolfgang juicer is loud (wakes up the sleepers in the house), hard to get started unless you manipulate the fruit just right on the plastic wedge and the plastic parts are very thin. I wished so badly that it would work well so I didn't have to get out my enormous commercial vegetable/fruit juice extractor but that is not the case. I am going to make a more careful choice on my next citrus juicer. I juice everyday and that might be why the Wolfgang failed. It is not a heavy duty daily-juicer. Maybe if one occasionally juiced they could get away with enjoying it. After reading voluminous reviews about other machines, I surmise that these lower-end juicers are probably all the same. For us heavy users (once or twice a day juices for families), we probably need to step-it up to a commercial unit.

It probably doesn't compare to the models that are five times as expensive, and it's probably much smaller. But that was what I wanted. I don't need a a professional juicer to make a pitcher of limeade or a key lime pie.

Better Chef IM550V Juicer Review

(More customer reviews)I've just finished drinking my first glass of carrot juice made with this juicer. I couldn't be more satisfied.

First of all it's very easy to assemble, disassemble and wash. I've had two other "under $50" juicers and have had trouble getting the stainless steel baskets in and out and remembering what order to assemble it - with this one it was a breeze.
Carrots are one of the harder textured food to juice. This machine was so quick and powerful I couldn't believe it, it took seconds!!!! I can't attest to whether it will continue to work, but for function and ease of use you can't beat it. It also does a good job of extracting all the juice out - the pulp was very dry.
Would recommend it if it were five times the price - I've never seen a juicer so inexpensive. This is the machine to buy if you've considered juicing, but were hesitant to invest the money. Also, makes a great additional juicer.

Bodum Bistro Electric Two Speed Citrus Juicer Review

(More customer reviews)I really wanted to like this juicer, but I was quickly disappointed.
Pros:
*It's quiet.
*It's easy to take apart and wash, and the relevant parts are even dishwasher safe.
*The glasses are very nice (if a bit thin), stackable, and bigger than I expected. They're the highlight of the product, actually.
Cons:
*The juicer cone is not very aggressively constructed. I found that I really had to push hard and wiggle the orange around a lot to get it going.
*The juicer does not turn very quickly. I think using a manual juicer would be just as quick.
*Though this juicer is 100 watts, it bogs down and strains if you push very hard (which it cautions you to not do).
*The "cyclone function" does not come anywhere near to extracting "all" the juice from the pulp, as they claim. It's only a little faster than the regular juicing speed, and it did pull out a bit more juice, but I was still left with a heap of sopping pulp in the strainer.
*Because the performance of this juicer is really not much better than a manual juicer, it might seem that it would be useful only for someone who would be juicing a lot of fruit at one time. But, per the instructions, you can only use this juicer for three minutes before you should stop and let it cool down to "room temperature." (I never sensed that it was getting hot, so how could I tell when it had cooled?) Given how long it takes to juice a single orange, you might be able to juice two oranges (one glassful) at the most before having to wait. This isn't a machine that will let you blaze through a bag of oranges and produce a pitcher of juice as breakfast cooks.
Overall, the Bodum Bistro juicer does indeed juice and is well designed for easy cleaning, but considering its price, large size, and so-so performance, I can't recommend it. Amazon offers other juicers that are highly rated and cheaper. In an electric, you might consider the very reasonably priced (and far more versatile) Black & Decker CJ525 CitrusMate Juicer, the even cheaper (and higher powered) Oster 3186 Juice-n-Serve Automatic Citrus Juicer or the Tribest Citristar Juicer; or go low-tech and cheap and try the aggressive cone on the Oxo Good Grips Citrus Juicer.
