(More customer reviews)Nutritionists recommend that you get a serving of vegetables with every meal, but how to accomplish that with a breakfast has always been a tough one for me since I don't like starchy vegetables like potatoes, and aside from cutting up a tomato, few other things go well with yogurt, egg whites, oatmeal, or any of the other stuff I like in the morning. A simple glass of V8 works perfectly. I've always loved V8 juice for that reason, but found it just a tad too salty. The low sodium version has made V8 perfect in my opinion. It has more flavor than most tomato juices, with a nice hint of celery seed. (It also makes a mean Bloody Mary!).
I've only given this particular version 3 stars because the shipping costs are not worth it. With the many PRIME eligible options available for V8, save yourself some cash and get one that ships for free.

Others I've tried (Whole Foods brand, Barlean's Greens, Berry Green, many others) literally taste just like grass clippings, so you have no choice but to mix it with juice or a smoothie. THIS green superfood is palatable enough to drink just mixed with water! (Let me explain: do not expect it to be SWEET. This is a veggie drink, but it has an ever-so-slight hint of raspberry that's pleasing to the tongue when you gulp it down.)

It is sweet enough to satisfy fruit craving and masks the vegetable tastes, but it's light enough not to leave an aftertaste (and with reduced calories compared to the regular version). We have been enjoying this product daily for two years without getting tired of it. Like other V-Fusion products it offers various vitamins and antioxidants.
The 8-pack with free shipping was a great deal compared to our local supermarket so I hope Amazon re-stocks it soon!

I love V8 and cannot give it less than 5 stars, but I must comment on Amazon's ridiculous price. Paying $49.50 for 12 bottles of V8 simply isn't smart because you can just as easily buy this at your local store. It's doubly idiotic because it's the smaller 46 oz size. I bought a 64 oz bottle (2 QT) from Walgreens tonight for $3. I'll do the math for you. $49.50/12 = $4.12 a bottle (9¢/oz). Mine is 4.6¢/oz. Amazon's is twice as expensive.
I suppose if you are house-bound or overseas and must have a case of V8, you could order this. For the rest of us with working feet and/or cars, we could just go down to the local grocery store or supermarket/Costco.

If you are tracking your sodium closely, be careful to look at the content in these cans. Otherwise, I coudln't be happier to have these on auto-delivery and never have to worry about finding them at the store or going to a different store just to pick these up. I love it!!

At the VA hospital, my dietician asked me to revise my diet. Most of the diet is no problem, but increasing vegetables can be a big problem. I need five to seven servings of vegetables each day. To meet all the "healthy" requirements, I have to eat too much. I have forced myself to eat it all and I end up feeling stuffed. Most days the best I can do is 4 servings.
I discussed this with my dietician and she said I could drink vegetables for some of my servings. V8 vegetable juice qualifies as a vegetable serving. Somehow its is like that commercial where Bill Cosby says "there is always room for Jell-O,".I can drink an eight ounce glass of V8 and not feel stuffed. A side benefit is that it tastes good.

V8 contains wonderful ingredients: calories 50; Sodium 140 mg; Potassium 820mg; Fiber 2g; Sugars 8g; Protein 2g. Percent daily value: Vitamin A 40%;Vitamin C, 120%; Calcium 2%; Iron, 2%; Vitamin C, 120%; Calcium 2%, iron, 2%. I try to purchase the low sodium bottle.
So, with V8, I increase my vegetables and eat healthy. I highly recommend V8 vegetable juice for daily consumption.

(More customer reviews)This juicer is one of the worst juicers I've ever used. Don't be fooled by the claims made during the infomercial. This juicer barely has the ability to shred the produce fed into it, much less efficiently extract the any juice from the pulp. Worst of all, it is actually dangerous to use. It all comes down to poor design.
The primary flaw with this juicer is that the feed tube directs its contents into the center of the shredding blade where it spins the slowest. To make matters worse, the teeth at the center of the shredding blade are arranged in the same circular path. This tooth arrangement fails to generate any shredding action between the blades, and only grinds circular groves in the produce. Thus, the produce tends feed very slowly, or actually stalls in the grind tube. This slowed feeding action also seems to cause the centrifuge basket to slow down, and clog up. I'm not exactly sure why this happens, but I suspect it may have something to do with the produce binding between the bottom edge of the feed tube and the center of the shredding blade. Obviously, once the centrifuge basket gets clogged, less juice is extracted, the pulp is wetter, and more juice ends up in the pulp receptacle.
The second flaw is that the pulp is only discharged into the pulp receptacle from one side of the shredding /centrifuge chamber. This tends to cause the pulp to linger in the centrifuge basket, and compounds the clogging problem. Once the centrifuge basket gets clogged, the pulp begins to stick to the inside of the shredding /centrifuge chamber, and eventually seems to make its way into the juice catch basin.
The third flaw is that juice catch basin is flat on the bottom, and does not drain well. Pulp particles in the juice tend to settle on the bottom the juice catch basin, and eventually may stop the juice from draining. When this occurs, juice will flow over the inside lip of the juice catch basin, and stream down the motor housing. Wait; it gets worse! Since the motor's cooling vents are on the sides of the motor housing directly below the juice catch basin, juice escaping from the juice catch basin tends to flow into the motor housing through the cooling vents creating an electrical hazard.
Not flaws, but worth mentioning:
When the juice catch basin is installed, and the shredding blade spun onto the drive shaft before the centrifuge basket is installed, it will be very difficult to uninstall the shredding blade because there is no way to stop the drive shaft from rotating.
Since the feed tube is located in close proximity to the drain spout & juice cup, small produce items sometimes fall into the juice cup during the juicing process.

I was very impressed and wanted to but it but I was low on cash so I waited till I had the money and bought the professional version. It comes with a wonderful DVD and the receipe book is just out of this world. This mixer does everything but cook a steak on the BBQ. The DVD explains all the things it can do like make soup and bread dough. I thought I was just going to make fresh fruit with wheat germ, honey and soy protein drinks. I was totally wrong. And I'm glad I am because it is worth every penny. Make sure you get the DVD and book with any model you choose it is worth it. I love mine and I'm sure you will too. I use it every day and clean up takes seconds.

Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this juicer for an ex-boyfriend & we used it for over two years. It does juice things fairly well. For the low price-tag, you get a pretty good quality product.
(One Tip: If you have a lot of plastic grocery bags, putting one in the pulp bucket before using the juicer makes cleanup a lot easier - you can just pull it out, tie it up & toss it. Then the pulp bucket only needs a gentle rinse to clean up.)
Having used a number of other juices since, I would like to point out some of the issues that this juicer has that ultimately became a turn-off to me (and made me not-so-sad to see the juicer go away with my ex):
- It juices, but it doesn't wring out nearly all the juice - I've found both centrifuge and masticating juicers that wring more juice out.
- Clean-up is a pain in the butt - cleaning all the parts takes a lot of time. You should have a little toothbrush to get all the bits of pulp out of the little crevices.
- Getting the 'blade/grater' part out can be hard. You have to screw & unscrew it with a special tool - it took us a while to figure out how hard we should screw it in, so that it stays put & does the job, but isn't then impossible to get out to clean.
- It stained quickly (and permanently). Not a huge flaw, but still, I don't like having dirty, stained products sitting out on my kitchen counter.
Overall, for the price, it's a worthwhile purchase, especially if you're only an occasional user. If there's any possible way you can spring for something a little pricier (especially if you plan on juicing regularly), I'd highly recommend going that route.
