(More customer reviews)I juice a lot of oranges on a regular basis. I have tried manual reamers and electric juicers. I was excited to use one which could apply a lot of pressure quickly and with less effort. The only problem, and it is a big one, is that the juicer leaves a large portion of the flesh unsqueezed. When I use an electric juicer/reamer, there is very little flesh left. With this juicer, the top does not come down far enough onto the removable cup cap to squeeze the whole orange. As a result, you will waste about 25% of the juice. This problem is so obvious that I can take the juiced halves and squeeze more juice out with my bare hand. I will be seeking a refund. I am very disappointed. I can't believe this product is on the market with such poor performance.

(More customer reviews)I don't think you can find a better, easier to use citrus juicer at any price. It's gone up a couple of bucks since I bought mine, but it is still the best deal available without question.
It's fast, stable on the counter, converts to a serving pitcher when you're done juicing, and it's absolutely a cinch to clean up. I can't think of anything Proctor Silex could do to improve this product.
If you're in the market for a citrus juicer (and fresh-squeezed is so far superior to anything you can buy in the grocery store) you can't do better than this one. Buy it.

(More customer reviews)I have had 3 juicers in my life, electric, hand press, etc. Each requires tough arm muscles with strong wrist that can press and squeeze hard enough to get the juice out. After a while, since I am left-handed, I noticed my left arm got bigger than the other. But I don't want to give up juicing since it taste so good and healthy. So, I went shopping several weeks ago for a juicer that can do the work for me and make my life easier so I thought of commercial juicers instead, most of them range from 280 to 650, not to mention some that goes for thousands of dollars. And finally, I found the "Hamilton Beach Comm'l Juicer", had it for few days now and it produces one of the best and smoothest orange juice I ever had. This unit is quite big and heavy for my kitchen countertop but it looks very nice and it is so worth it. If you are willing to convert to a fastforward juicing at home for your family and guests, this item is perfect and has the lowest price of its quality by far. For your information, I slip my finger a few times while the thing is running so fast "ouch, ouch, ouch", but my fingers never bled, practice will make perfect juicing. Overall, I am very happy and satisfied with my new "Hamilton Beach Comm'l Juicer". Juicing all the way, everyday for the family!

(More customer reviews)This juicer is fantastic. I only have those huge juicebar types vs. the little shredder 99$ ones to compare it too, and it blows them both away. A juicebar type omega would be nice if I ... owned a juice bar. But I'm just juicing for two at the most and this little 8 hp baby does the trick. The automatic shut off is a great feature for someone who likes to burn appliances up trying to 'do frozen' because I'm impatient, but I've only managed to kill this one once, with too much frozen corn- I was making Thai fish cakes.
It does not shred to juice, it twists to squeeze out the precious fluid and the hopper lets you control how much 'pulp' aka fiber you want in your juice. I love the engine purr and the squeak of kale as it's pushed through, I just wish I had a black or red one! haha This is a good price for a well warranted product, a great design, easy to clean up (though I don't know about a minute flat or whatever), I usually just rinse the pieces as I take it apart before I even drink my juice.
I primarily use it for juicing vegetables, and while it's tough I still cut my carrots into the size I would give a kid for veggie sticks, broccoli, beets too, the harder veggies need to be sliced up a bit, but i stuff celery whole down the chute, chunks of cabbage, ginger, kale... I will be making nut butter with it, and sausage if I can cope with the skin *shudder*
I love to use the pulp in veggie burgers, extra fiber in meatloaf, carrot cake, makes awesome compost and you can even throw some nuts on top of the dry pulp (run it through twice, sure!), dates, olive oil and have a salad later. Mix it into homemade dog food! No reason just to throw it away...
I can't wait to use my Samson juicer tomorrow morning, just talking about it.

Pasta, pate, sorbets, spice grinding, and I hear they have a new nozzle for making oil!! I'm getting one...
The only thing that comes close to a hassle is the juicing screen (which does not spin, it's a little stationary cone inside the plastic nozzle that you can trade out for a solid cone for pate, etc). I figured out quickly though that using the little brush (toothbrushs work well when the bristles finally wore down) on the INSIDE of the screen first, then going around the outside of the screen in circular motions is most effective, under a little running water. Everything else if you don't clean it right away (which would be silly) or are running meat through it, can be put in the dishwasher!
I have an older model that looks exactly the same, 10 yr instead of 15 warranty, and they say they've improved some of the pieces.. I can't imagine it being more perfect though!

Wolfgang Puck Citrus Juicer Review

(More customer reviews)This is my first electric citrus juicer. It seemed to work okay in the first few weeks but now it doesn't work well at all. I put it away and may just throw it away. The Wolfgang juicer is loud (wakes up the sleepers in the house), hard to get started unless you manipulate the fruit just right on the plastic wedge and the plastic parts are very thin. I wished so badly that it would work well so I didn't have to get out my enormous commercial vegetable/fruit juice extractor but that is not the case. I am going to make a more careful choice on my next citrus juicer. I juice everyday and that might be why the Wolfgang failed. It is not a heavy duty daily-juicer. Maybe if one occasionally juiced they could get away with enjoying it. After reading voluminous reviews about other machines, I surmise that these lower-end juicers are probably all the same. For us heavy users (once or twice a day juices for families), we probably need to step-it up to a commercial unit.

(More customer reviews)This is more or less what I wanted. Cheap, works well, easy to clean up.
My negative is the plastic container that holds my morning orange juice and my afternoon lime juicy. The plastic bowl is truly inexpensive. It scarred immediately and never looks new after the first use. Perhaps it was the accidity from the first orange juice. I have no idea. But the plastic is no longer smooth to the touch, and it looks dirty after I wash it. I do not have a dishwasher, so it gets a hand wash and rinse. Machine works well though, and I would buy another one if it lasts one year.

(More customer reviews)I am a huge juicer. Every morning my wife and I juice. We noticed that our juiceman jr was not efficiently juicing our green vegies. It was wasting 90% of them. The green veggies (expensive I might add) went right into the plastic bin hardly touched. I went to Jamba Juice and they explained how an auger presses the green juices - and, that's what Jamba uses for their wheat grass....well, the rest is history. I did my homework and found out that augers are more efficient just like Jamba explained. And, kitchens best walked me through the entire thing. Plus, they offered a 90 day money back warranty. They are incredibly nice and I can't believe they offer that kind of awesome money back gaurantee. Anyway, they are RIGHT about the juicer - it absolutely presses out 95% more green juice than the Jack Lalane and Juice man Jr. styles..and it does a better job on apples, ginger, and everything else too. The ONLY down side is - it's a slower process. But, in life - you can't have everything. I would much rather take a minute or two more each day and get my monies worth out of the fruits and veggies I buy than to speed through it and waste my food. Also, I seriously think it tastes better too!! Reason being, the other style spins it so fast - I swear it tasted "burned" sometimes. The Samson seems sweeter and more mellow. Anyway, trust me - you won't go wrong with this juicer or this company. Lovely company. Fair price too. Nobody offers a 90 day warranty...not even KMART OR WALLMART!! Nuff said. Buy it - you will thank me later.

(More customer reviews)This juicer does a good job of getting as much juice as possible out of small to medium citrus fruits - lemons, Persian limes, and oranges.
If you place a spacer under the juice container (I used the lid from a gallon jug of Arizona iced tea) it will also juice very small citrus - namely thin-skinned Key limes. To me, this alone makes it worthwhile because motorized-reamer juicers like my Cuisinart aren't well suited to this, while manual reamers are a lot of work... my Nigella Lawson Bliss juicer is wonderful for a lime at a time, but I just juiced over a quart of key lime juice with the Typhoon. It seems to get as much as much juice out of each lime as Nigella's, which is my benchmark. It does the job, and it looks good doing it.
However, it does have its imperfections. Seeds find their way through the holes, so I always empty it through a funnel with a strainer. The plastic piece the cup sits on wasn't pressed in until it was level and it took a lot of juicing before it seated itself - before that the cup tended to wander off center. I've become aware that guidance of the cup and/or plunger is necessary. Large citrus (giant grapefruit in particular) won't fit or won't be fully juiced. It flexes a bit, so I don't know if it'll last forever. Only the juice cup is dishwasher-safe stainless; the plunger cup needs to be removed and hand-washed.
That said, it does a better job with small citrus, with less hassle, than any juicer I own and I've had several. Mine is red, and it's earned its place on my counter. I couldn't ask for a better partner in my Tiki drink and margarita addictions.

(More customer reviews)I had the "regular" size juicer from this same company, which works fine. But I wanted a larger size one so that I can squeeze out more than just one or two servings. This one fits my need perfectly. I found this juicer to be the same high quality as the smaller one I had. There is no doubt that it is made of pure stainless steel. No rust, no scratches, even after many washing and scrubbing. The base is stable and heavy enough to withstand my force. This is important when I am doing a lot of squeezing. The top and bottom pieces fit well together. I didn't experience the problem the previous reviewer described. One needs to just slightly rotate the top piece so that it fits right over the notch. I found this quite intuitive, and actually not easy for me to miss-align the two pieces. Just like the smaller one, I am happy with this device. Except now I can make multiple servings without having to empty out the content frequently. This is very convenient and I highly recommend it for someone who needs to make juices for more than a couple people.

(More customer reviews)I have been juicing lemons a lot lately, and I had a little 3 part gadget that had a bottom, a middle piece that had the pointed juicer part, and strainer to catch seeds, and then a rounded top that you would use to push the fruit down on to the juicer. It only worked OK, and was a pain to clean. Then I saw a Cooks Illustrated How To cookbook, and they talk about techniques they try and like, and the best method they found for juicing was a manual one(theirs was wood), so I started looking for one, and found this. I have used it several times since, and it is amazing! The juice just pours out! I love the round handle, very comfortable in my palm. I just use a small strainer over my measuring cup to catch any seeds. This is really easy to clean, too!
Edit to add update - now that I have had this a few months and used it a lot, I have to reiterate how great this is! I saw a wooden one in a home store, and I picked it up to test the hand feel, and it was nowhere near as comfortable in my hand, I am so glad I found this one!

(More customer reviews)Overall impression was that it was of fair quality, but unsuited to my needs. I have a lot of grapefruit to juice, and this is not a good tool for that job. The juicing dome, cup and presser cone were too small for all but the smallest grapefruit. Consequently, using this juicer left about 1/3 of the available juice behind. (I measured the volume the juicer squeezed out - then used a small electric juicer to extract the remaining juice. The first squeeze extracted about a cup. The second juicer extracted about half a cup.) Additional pressure did not help the situation because the part of the fruit with the juice was not getting pressed.
The results were much different with oranges. This press extracted virtually all of the available juice from medium-size oranges. Were I only dealing with small citrus, this press would probably have been quite satisfactory for moderate use.
I would characterize this as a satisfactory juicer for medium-sized oranges, lemons and limes for periodic use. It is not suitable for any but the smallest grapefruit, nor do I believe it would hold up under heavy use, but beyond its shortcomings as a grapefruit juicer, it may be all you need.
