Mini XL Pulp Ejection Juicer Color: White Review

Just after I ordered Jack LaLane's Express juicer, I came upon the L'Equip. After reading the specs on the L'Equip, I hoped for the best with Jack LaLane's Express. : /
I've had several juicers over the years and the Express was actually a pretty nice machine. However it only worked for about a month. Customer Service was hard to run down but finally I was able to return it. Did I say I had to pay an extra $15 for only a 3 year warranty? That says a lot about the lack of confidence they had in their own product.
The L'Equip comes with a 6 year warranty - for free.
It's also slightly louder than the Express but not terribly so, but the motor is much stronger than the Express and has a higher RPM.
The design is very much like the Juiceman Jr. except it has a wide feeder chute. However "wide feeder chute" is a misnomer because there's a wedge within the chute. Well obviously this defeats the purpose of having a wide chute to begin with since there's a wedge inside, but apparently the purpose of the wedge it to keep the produce from spinning around inside the chute.
The high rpm occasionally results in produce being rapidly and violently being bounced back out of the chute but you adjust to that after a bit.
The wedge inside the L'Equip is pretty much the only thing I dislike about this machine though. I enjoyed the wide chute on the Express and it made juicing quite fast, but you have to take an extra step of cutting to accommodate the wedge inside the L'Equip.
It cleans well but you should remember to lift the bowl and pour out the little bit of extra juice that's left over when you're finished juicing.
I like mine and use it regularly but all machines take some time to adjust to and overall in my opinion, this machine beats the Juiceman Jr and the Express.

Omega 9000 Juicer Review

Omega 9000 Juicer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Omega 9000 juicer is a good juicer.
I've had an Acme 6001 for years and it has served me well. When it was time for a new juicer, I bought the Breville since it was such a "hot item".
Big mistake! Unless you want it to "keep up with the Joneses" and think having a big shiny juicer in your kitchen is more about prestige and less about health, then the Breville is for you.
Back to the Omega. The Omega 9000 makes pulp feel like a shirt. It's pretty dry.
Big up to Amazon & HealthNut for it's speedy pick up of the Breville and quick delivery of the Omega (2 days), which is actually well-designed and has good yield.
Now for the cons: carrot residue sticks to the bottom and along the periphery of the basket which goes inside the bowl. It took me a long time to scrub off. Maybe a filter will help, but I never had that problem with the Acme and it was built many moons ago in the 90's. If it wasn't for that design flaw, I'd give it another star.
One last thing. Make sure you process the fruit & vegetables in the right order. For some reason, if you put, say, cucumber and parsley first, before the carrot, the juicer will flip out and do a dance on the counter. I experienced this w/ the Acme as well. So go slow at first & read the tips about what to process first & how.
Cheers.

Omega Vert Hd Vrt350 Juicer Review

Omega Vert Hd Vrt350 Juicer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ok, I hardly ever write reviews, but this juicer deserves the accolades I'm about to bestow upon it. I'm a heavy juicer, and go in fits and starts with heavy juicing and then no juicing. About a year or two ago I purchased the Omega 8003 juicer and have been happy with it. The main drawbacks to that juicer are its small diameter feed slot and the fact that you really have to "push" stuff along with the pusher. For the last couple of weeks I've been heavily juicing with that machine. My review is really from the perspective of what I'm coming from.
First, I did a lot of research on juicers (again). Although I looked at the Jack La Lane juicer which is a high speed juicer (and much cheaper), I found myself coming back to the slow speed for the same reasons that drove me to my original Omega 8003, namely, keeping the enzymes in tack, better taste (less watery) and a better yield (especially with organic fruit being so costly). It was taking me about 25 minutes to juice with the Omega 8003 including cleanup, which is a bit lengthy for a glass of juice. Now, in defense of the 8003, it does a really good job of juicing, pulp is dry and it makes a good juice. However, I tend to make really large glasses of juice (usually at least 24 oz) and it requires everything to be cut up into small enough pieces to fit in the small feeder. Apples take forever, and even feeding things like grapes you still have to push a few in, then mush it down, few more, mush it down etc etc. Process takes a while.
So my new VRT HD arrived today. Forget what HD stands for, but apparently the only difference is the strength of the inner filter/strainer, which I saw some reviews of cracking. I plan to work this thing like a mule, so I wanted the best.
Setup was super easy, all the parts were easy to figure out, never needed to read an instruction and I was off an juicing in minutes. I've done 4 juices today, so far using all fruits (apples, pineapple, carrots, grapes, pomegranate and kiwi). All I can say is WOW!!!
What I love so far: First and foremost, because its a vertical cylinder that masticates, I just drop in the fruit, say a carrot, and it grinds it right up. I can't cut off the tops fast enough. It just eats em right up. With the 8003, I have to jam and shove those things down into the screw. That alone is worth the price of admission. Just drop em in and watch em go. LOVE IT!! (can you tell I'm excited).
Everything else got chewed up just as well. I've used a lot of fleshy fruit today, and did have one issue on my second juice. My pineapple and grapes got clogged on the little outlet where the fiber ejects. I think that was my fault however because I think I got over zealous and excited. I slowed down my feed a bit on the subsequent juicing's and had zero issues.
Another feature I REALLY like is the self cleaning feature. A plastic thingy swirls around the outside of the screen/filter while your juicing and cleans the screen. In my 8003, grapes and other fleshy fruit really tend to clog the screen up, but I have had no issues all day. That screen comes out almost as clean as it went in.
I do get foam floating on top of my drink. I'd actually say a bit less than my 8003, which surprised me because in a web demo head to head with another 800? unit I watched on youtube it looked like the VRT produced a bit MORE foam, but this is not my experience. It's not a lot of foam, but I hate foam. Nothing that a quick skim with a spoon doesn't rectify. Pure tasty juice underneath.
Lastly, I was told in same said video that cleanup would take twice as long. I found that to be true for the first cleanup (not knowing what I was doing) but so far, my cleanup has maybe taken an additional minute. I find it quite simple actually, and once you figure out the pieces (not difficult), it actually seems little harder than my 8003.
All in all I absolutely LOVE this juicer. I can juice 24 or more ounces of juice, from opening the fridge door to putting the pieces back into the cabinet in under 10 minutes. The top feeder is so much wider which allows for much bigger pieces, which means a lot less cutting and preparation. Once it goes in, it self feeds, which means your not standing there mushing stuff down. Juice tastes great, fiber comes out reasonably dry, and clean up is simple enough.
It's only been a day, but what a great day its been.

Hurom HU-100 Slow Juicer, Snow White Review

Hurom HU-100 Slow Juicer, Snow White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For the last four years I've used a centrifugal juicer and always wanted a masticating juicer, but never bought one because I knew some of them had problems juicing fruits, and also that they're very slow.
So, when I saw the advertisement for this "slow" juicer that was fast and which could juice both leafy greens and fruits equally well, I was very excited. I raptly watched the video demonstrations of its capabilities and ordered it promptly. Some of its purported advantages of extremely dry pulp, more juice, little to no foam, etc. have fallen far short of the promises made. I notice no increased amount of juice, the foam is absolutely no less than it was with a centrifugal juicer, and UNLIKE my trusty centrifigual juicer the Hurom does a LOUSY job of juicing greens. Just try to juice a leaf of Kale and you'll find it gets all wound up around the screw that is supposed to be chewing it up. It's a mess! I have to stop, put it in reverse, which makes the top come off, then unplug it, stick my hands down around the screw and try to get some of the stuck kale out. And, if you are going to juice a green like kale, do it last or anything you try to juice afterwards will also get stuck around the screw with the kale and not get juiced.
I have also NOT noticed any less separation than the juice created with my centrifugal juicer. So, that's a bust, too.
On the positive side, here are some things I do like about it better than my centrifugal -- it's blessedly quiet, the juice doesn't spit out at high velocity causing splashing everywhere, also small berries and things like pomengranate seeds are easier to juice since they're not trying to jump back out the top of the juicer like they do with the high-speed velocity of the centrifugal juicer.
So, if this is your first juicer, you'll probably be pretty happy with it. If you're a seasoned juicer and are looking to buy up, however, for the money I think I'd wished I'd gone for the twin auger juicer instead.
Update: I've been using the juicer for a couple of months now and am pretty happy with it. I just make sure I tear some of the larger greens up a bit before feeding them in, and I try to juice them last or right before some other item that will help push them through, like celery.

Tribest SoloStar II Multi-Purpose Juicer for Wheatgrass and more Review

Tribest SoloStar II Multi-Purpose Juicer for Wheatgrass and more
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Drawbacks
My SoloStar II has been plagued by problems. In less than a year, many of the outer parts have broken. The juicing screen ($35.00) has broken three times. When the juicing screens break, it happens before the pulp container is even full. As a result, the auger and juicing screen need to be cleaned constantly within a session. The screen locking cap ($5.80) has also broken. Speaking of the auger, even that cracked ($35.00). Several times, I e-mailed customer service about such issues with no reply. When I called, Tribest Life promptly sent out free replacement parts.
Benefits
When the parts aren't breaking, the SoloStar II works very well. It's simple to assembly and operate. The actual extraction process seems efficient. Cleaning is a breeze since most of the parts rinse under the sink. The only cleaning challenge is the juicing screen. Along these lines, the modified toothbrush that comes with the unit is worthless. I now use a steel auto detailing brush that does a great job. The SoloStar II is visually pleasing and the unit operates at a good volume. I was inspired to purchase the juicer after watching the online video as hosted on the Tribest Life web page. It accompanies the juicer in VHS format. Being a first time juicer, this was extremely helpful.
In conclusion, there are benefits and drawbacks to the SoloStar II. While it may have been a good introduction to the juicing world, I definitely look forward to an upgrade. Talking to juicers (people who juice, not the machines;), it seems that you really need to spend around $350.00-$400.00 before getting a quality juicer. Should you decide to purchase the SoloStar II, make certain that you send in the warranty/registration card. That was essential in getting parts replaced at no charge.

Omega 8005 Juicer - Citrus, Vegetable, Wheatgrass Review

Omega 8005 Juicer - Citrus, Vegetable, Wheatgrass
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you accept that a masticating juicer gives better quality juice than a centrifical, but you do not want a heavy, awkward machine that takes a long time to set up and longer to clean, then this is a great choice. Omega hit the sweet spot with this product. It is light, relatively small, quiet, and cleans rather quickly (the mesh screen is small and does not seem to hold on to the food), while producing fine juice from a variety of plants. (Impressive on celery and spinach; quite good enough on carrots) The result is a masticating juicer that actually gets used, rather than a (perhaps) theoretically superior juicer that is just too much of a hassle to take out. I have a 31 year-old Champion which I really like; I just never use it except when I am fasting, and sometimes not even then.
One thing should be mentioned. Many single gear juicer ads boast that a slow-turning auger damages the juice less than, say, a Champion because its fast rotation heats the juice and deactivates enzymes and other molecules. Truth is, when I run cold carrots through a Champion, I get cold carrot juice; when I run cold carrots through an Omega 8005, the juice is not warm, but it is definitely not cold. Clearly, if there is less rotation, then the heavy mechanical compression at a certain point produces heat to a greater extent than Champion's rapid rotation does. (I have read one review of another single auger juicer that said its juiced carrots actually came out hot.) Personally, I do not think either type machine actually hurts the juice's chemistry, but Champion should call its single auger competititors on their deceptive claim.
Summary: If you want knock-your-socks off cold carrot juice, get a Champion (although the Omega will still give you a carrot juice high, and, for all I know, its juice will taste just as good if you chill it). If you want bragging rights about the amount of nutrients in your juice, get a Green machine (at almost twice the price, twice the weight, and a long time to clean up). If you want a juicer that probably gives better quality and variety of juices than a centrifical juicer with less noise and no greater cleanup time, get this one. You will actually use it even if you don't have the counter space for it.

I bought this juicer expecting it to out-perform my current machine. However, it's just too much trouble to assemble the screw and caps and cut up vegetables and feed them in the hopper and plunge them in, slowly. With my old high speed blender that I use for carrot juices, it's simply a matter of pushing whole carrots into the top slot. Then open and clean out. Takes a minute. In sum, I would say this Samson machine may be useful for something, to someone. But please, if only I could have tried it out first.

Super Angel 5500 Stainless Steel Living Juice Extractor Machine - Super Heavy Duty Juicer: Juices Fruits, Vegetables, Leafy Greens, Wheatgrass Review

Super Angel 5500 Stainless Steel Living Juice Extractor Machine - Super Heavy Duty Juicer: Juices Fruits, Vegetables, Leafy Greens, Wheatgrass
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This quality juicer is a beast of a machine that squeezes every last drop out of anything you want to juice.
The Angel is a pleasure to use, easy to clean and creates delicious drinks with 2-3 times more juice (and nutrients) than any juicer I have owned.JUICE
The most important part of a juicer, juice from the Angel tastes delicious and makes too much to drink!
I make a Dr. Oz "Fresh" Juice daily, using celery, apple, spinach, cucumber, lemon, lime, ginger and parsley. Using 1kg (35 ounce) of ingredients the Angel Juicer returns 894gms (31 ounce) of juice, making it almost 90% efficient at extracting liquid from the mentioned ingredients.
The Angel excels at leafy greens, but is also very impressive with fruits. Pomegranate juice is highly recommended, to make you strong like bull!
Orange, pineapple or grapes are almost as yum, and as there is very little pulp ejected, juices taste more flavoursome and have a consistency better than any I have tried from another juicer, carton or juice bar.
There is very little foam produced perhaps around 2-5% of total juice content.
The Angel also makes soy milk, nut butters and seed juice, although I have never made these.EASE OF USE
The Angel is quickly and easily assembled with a simple on and off function, however it is slower than a centrifugal juicer in extracting juice.
The twin screws quietly and slowly chew the juice out rather than spinning it out at high speeds like a centrifugal juicer. This is a Rolls-Royce juicer for a luxurious drink, if you want a fast drink buy a Ferrari Breville juicer or something.
If produce is inserted too quickly, a mushy goop at the bottom of the feeding shoot appears and eventually a couple of drops will leak from the clamping mechanism. This is the biggest annoyance I have encountered with the juicer, but rarely problematic if produce is inserted slowly enough.
So, instead of washing, cutting and juicing all the fruit/vegetables at the same time, I find it easier to chop then juice, chop then juice, giving the Angel ample time to squeeze everything out, taking less than 5 minutes all up, for 1kg of Fresh Juice.
You can put things like apple seeds into the twin gears without change in taste to the juice, but many lemon seeds make a juice bitter.

CLEANING
To make the machine spotless takes a good few minutes. All non-motor parts except for the screen mesh need just a quick wash under the tap(faucet)
Other reviewers stated finding it difficult to clean the screen, and it can be awkward at first, but much less so than centrifugal juicers with their myriad of parts and clamps. I found the screen much easier to clean if liquidy produce, such as lemon, is juiced after more fibrous produce such as celery.
Then only a wash under the tap with a few scrapes on the outside and a few scrubs on the inside (with the included scraper and brush) is needed. When juicing pomegranates, everything washes away with a quick splash with no scrubbing required.
As everything is stainless steel, there are no plastic bits to discolour, meaning that everything looks brand new if wiped clean with a dry cloth. After months of use the juicing parts do not have a single water mark, scratch or stain on them, but the stainless steel motor unit has a couple of faint water marks which may be annoying if you are a perfectionist like me.
After a few months of daily use, a slight calcium residue appeared on the juicing parts but a vinegar soak and a toothbrush, as per the manual instructions, dealt with that.

BUILD QUALITY
The motor unit is a monster with a 5 year warranty, but like most quality products I expect it to last much longer than the stated guarantee. Both the motor and the twin screws are very heavy and sturdy feeling. In comparison the mesh screen is very light, but is strong and its weight beneficial when cleaning. The wooden plunger is of excellent quality, as it has not stained or split at all.
The plastic juice and pulp containers however, are weak, scratched quickly from cleaning and stain if left dirty. The benefits of having an all stainless steel juicer means no contact with (potentially toxic or gender bending) plastics, and promoted in detail on the Angel website, so why a cheap plastic container was provided is beyond me.
I replaced the plastic juice container with a 1 litre Pyrex jug which works better as a juice receptacle.
When switched on the Angel is remarkably quiet, with most of the noise coming from the internal cooling fan. During use, the Angel is a little noisier than a loud fridge, but much, much quieter than a centrifugal juicer, ie. you can still hold a conversation or listen to music.

GOOD: Easily makes wonderful tasting and copious amounts of juice.BAD: Have to chop-up and insert fruits and vegetables slower than a centrifugal juicer.UGLY: Should replace el-cheapo plastic jug with a glass one.
Water marked stainless steel motor unit deducts one star.

In short- Buy this product if you can afford it and love vegetable juices. If you can't afford it, and you are serious about juicing, save up.
4-stars because for the price it should be perfect, but the Angel makes 5 star juice.PS. YouTube "Angel Juicer" to see it in action.

Omega J8005 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commercial Masticating Juicer, Chrome and Black Review

Omega J8005 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commercial Masticating Juicer, Chrome and Black
Average Reviews:

I used to have an ACME centrifugal juicer. I thought I would never like any juicer better than the ACME because it made good juice and was very easy to clean. The only drawback to a centrifugal juicer is it won't extract much juice from leafy green vegetables and won't juice wheatgrass.
I got this Omega 8005 juicer because I wanted to be able to juice greens and wheat grass as well as root vegetables. I read on a forum that this new Omega juicer is the best there is for under $400. This Omega juicer is even easier to clean than the ACME, which is a big issue because in the long run you won't use a juicer if its a hassle to clean. And it squeezes all the juice out of anything I put in it. The pulp comes out very dry. It is super quiet too and the ACME was loud.
The Omega runs at a low rpm so it doesn't kill enzymes and stuff like that, so its supposed to make healthier juice than a Champion or centrifugal juicer.
Its a pleasure to use. I make juice every day now. I love getting all the nutrients that I need regularly. It helps my body recover from surfing everyday.
The juicer is very well built and very simple. It seems like it will last a long time and it has a very long warranty.
You can tell that I love this juicer, eh?
Edit: It's now 2009 and I've had this juicer almost five years. I still use it just about every day. I still love it. The juicing screen started to wear out a few months ago. I emailed Omega and they sent me a new one for free. They certainly stand by their 10 year warranty. I am comforted to know that if anything else should happen, I still have five more years of no questions asked replacement.

Equipped with a 1/3-horsepower single-phase induction motor, this powerful masticating juicer thoroughly chews up plant fibers to fully extract vitamins, enzymes, and minerals from fruits and vegetables, including wheatgrass and leafy greens. The unit's dual-stage juicing system ensures maximum efficiency, while its low rotation speed of 80 RPMs means no foaming, no clogging, and no heat build-up. In addition to juicing fruits and vegetables, the multi-purpose machine can also be used, just as effectively, to make peanut butter or natural baby food, grind coffee beans and flour, mince herbs and spices, and extrude homemade pasta including spaghetti and linguini with the included pasta nozzles. Other highlights include a high juice yield with very dry pulp, an automatic pulp-ejection function for continuous juicing, a built-in "reverse" mode to prevent food from getting stuck, heavy-duty construction, and quiet operation. Easy to assemble, operate, and clean, the UL- and cUL-approved masticating juice extractor measures 14-1/2 by 6-1/2 by 15-1/2 inches and carries a 10-year warranty.
