(More customer reviews)These are great refrigerator pitchers for two main reasons:
1.) They are heavy duty glass, so unlike plastic they will not absorb flavors, odors and colors from what you put in them.
2.) They have a hermetic seal, so the flavor of your product stays in while other refrigerator odors stay out. Definitely a fresher taste for a longer duration. These are great for milk. (I can't stand those plastic jugs and the milk in glass jars at the grocery is just too expensive to buy every time.)
In response to one reviewer: Regarding the seal, there is actually a trick to sealing it properly. If you just place the lid on the container it will probably not seal. If you hold the outside of the lid and twist the middle handle in the proper direction (it is marked "CLOSE" on the lid) then you will end up with a perfectly tight seal. If you do not hold the outside while doing this, the entire lid may spin and will not seal, you need the outer edge of the lid to stay in place - so hold it there with your fingertips while you twist the top.
It is actually very easy once you understand the concept. Hold the outside, twist the top.Now for the minor down-side: These do measure in LITERS, not quarts or gallons as most Americans are used to so adjustments to recipes would have to be made and you may have to use more than one pitcher if transferring gallons & such. I have spent so much money searching for a worthy refrigerator pitcher and never did find one. I came across these Italian imports for only $4.99 and $7.99 each at the C*ntainer St*re and I am going to buy more for sure.
Also, one reviewer mentioned that it was difficult to grasp the handle. I have large hands for a female and I can still manage to hold it easily, but my fiance who is 6'4" and 240 lbs. complained about the handle as well. Just be careful while holding it, I think they are still the best ever!
I will definitely recommend these to my friends & family.

(More customer reviews)I, like the other reviewers, thought this pitcher was absolutely beautiful and very sturdy. I purchased it from Bed Bath and Beyond for a brunch I was hosting 5 months ago. I have used it several times since.
There is not much information on the box, no paperwork, but what I gathered from the box and graphics is: handwash only, no transferring from freezer to microwave and vice versa, avoid extreme temperature changes, and not for use with hot liquids.
I have followed those instructions, yet today my pitcher broke rather unexpectedly and could have potentially been dangerous!
My hand washed pitcher was sitting in the drying rack when I went to fill it with a batch of iced tea I had made. The tea had been sitting on the stove cooling in a pot for about an hour and when I reached into the liquid with my bare hands to retrieve the bags, it was lukewarm to the touch.
I set the pitcher in my sink and poured the tea into it. When it reached the top I heard a cracking sound and watched as the entire pitcher of tea drained and went down the drain. Then, slowly a crack appeared near the bottom and over the course of the next minute or two made its way loudly up to the top of the pitcher.
I was very shocked, gasped, and went and got my box to re-read making sure I had followed all of their recommendations. Indeed, I had. That is when I thought "I should send the company some pictures because this is dangerous!" I went to remove the pitcher from the sink and found that what had happened was the bottom cleanly separated perfectly from the rest of the pitcher and stayed in the bottom of my sink like a glass puck.
I believed my pitcher to be defective, took pictures, and emailed the company (their number is closed because it is the weekend). I will wait to hear what they have to say.
EDITED TO ADD: Company contacted me the next week about a replacement. It was mailed really soon and I received well-packaged at no cost. Will still be very weary of breakage in the future, but gave an additional star for good customer service!
I would just like to say BUYER BEWARE. Google around a bit and read other Amazon reviews of Libbey and their Crisa products before purchasing. I am NOT the only one who has had major breakage problems. It seems their glassware is known for being very fragile and breaking easily. Users have complained of glasses breaking as they are drinking out of them, as they set them on the counter, shards of glass found in their sink after washing the dishes, etc. I only wish I had known this before I brought their faulty product. Thankfully I did not get hurt, but the 1/2" thick broken glass I handled definitely scared me enough to want to speak up and warn others about this. Thank God I had put it in my sink so as it broke it was contained, otherwise this could have been a different story!

Unfortunately, one of the pitchers had a small crack in an unnoticible spot (where the handle meets the bowl of the pitcher). I was understandably upset, but because I think it was a fluke and not a design flaw, I will re-order. I only suggest that you order this pitcher with enough time to spare so that if there is a crack you could return and re-order.

(More customer reviews)This is a very attractive pitcher so if you want something nice for entertaining it's a great choice. I was looking for a pitcher to keep water in my fridge. For this purpose its a poor choice and I returned it. The base is too narrow so it falls over in a swinging fridge door. Also it's too tall to keep on the top shelf with te milk. A problem common to this and all round pitchers is that it's difficult to keep the opening in the lid lined up with the spout. Again, this is fine for occaisional use but not a hassle I want everyday.

(More customer reviews)While this pitcher is artistically pleasing, graceful and elegant, it is quite unfunctional. Contrary to the description, it does NOT fit in a refrigerator door (unless you have a giant commercial fridge!) It is much too tall to fit in a door rack or on a shelf, which means you can only use it lying flat - not a very good option because it takes up too much shelf space and is a spill hazard unless the lid is VERY firmly in place. I only chose this one because it is made from the "Safe" plastic, and was supposed to fit in the door. Also, it does not have a separate comatiner for your chopped fruits & veggies, so it really isn't an infusion pitcher like many others on the market. I'm disappointed in it, and would not recommend it for the purpose advertised.

(More customer reviews)This pitcher/measuring cup is quite useful; the handle is large and very comfortable, and the pouring spout is actually a spout, instead of a small depression in the edge - as most are, and so it pours without the liquid running down the front of it. The soft plastic lid seals tight enough to use it as a shaker. The only improvement it needs is to be a 4-cup, instead of a 3-cup pitcher. Otherwise, it is an excellent buy.

I ordered 6 of these and so made the shipping problem described in another review not applicable. The vendor does charge a lot for shipping and handling, but if you order multiple items, it works out great, because most of the shipping is probably handling---in other words, if you ordered 6 pitchers, the shipping and handling is only $9.99! Also the pitchers are very sturdy and heavy, which I wanted.
These pitchers fit beautifully on the inside door of my refrigerator. They don't leach chemicals into my beverages, either. They take up very little space (they are squared not rounded so they fit well all lined up) and are attractive. If you are looking for a healthy option to plastic, this is it. They also have a nice snug lid to keep things fresh. The lid can be turned to an "open" position like many pitchers so that the lid doesn't have to be removed to pour.
The pitchers are attractive and not chinsy-looking like plastic pitchers. Buy more than one not only to save on shipping and handling, but because you'll want more for sure!

(More customer reviews)I already had a poly-carb pitcher that I use for moving water in the kitchen, especially filling the dogs' water bowl (and it has beautifully survived clanking against the faucet, etc.). I recently bought a Breville tea maker and, since I don't like hot drinks, was pouring the hot tea from the tea maker into the pitcher to cool and sweeten which meant it was unavailable for dog refills. So, I ordered this one as a second, and it fits the bill perfectly. It is basically the same size, holds a full pot of hot tea, survives the addition of ice cubes to cool it down and sparkles on the counter. All in all, a lovely and functional addition to the kitchen.

Prodyne Fruit Infusion 93-Ounce Natural Fruit Flavor Pitcher Review

(More customer reviews)I first saw this pitcher when I was looking for the same thing but with an ice core instead of the infusion core (which just happens to be made by the same company). I thought it was a great concept; and since I'm always looking for ways to add more water to my diet (without having to drink plain old ordinary water), I decided to give it a try. I was immediately hooked!
Here are a couple of things that I've observed:
Distilled water works best.
Depending upon what type of fruit you use in the core, it can take up to two days (or more) to get a really good infusion. Citrus fruits tend to take longer to infuse than berries.
It's a good idea to add water to it each time you pour yourself a glass. Two reasons: first, the newly added water will mix with the already-infused water and will take less time to become flavored. If you wait until the pitcher's mostly empty, it'll take a while to get a good infusion. Second, a smaller amount of "new" water will take less time to chill than if you were to add a whole bunch of new water.
And here's a hint: If you make your own lemonade (from scratch), try using orange-infused water to your lemon juice instead of plain, unflavored water. It adds a wonderful touch of "something" that you can't put your finger on (you KNOW there's something else in the lemonade, but you just can't figure out WHAT).
And, lastly, a suggestion: don't wait for berries to come into season! Just use frozen ones (strawberries, raspberries, mixed berries, etc.) Because they've been frozen, they tend to infuse better than fresh ones. I recently used half a package of frozen raspberries. As they thawed they immediately began to turn the water red and by the time they were completely thawed, I had a lovely shade of red raspberry water. Being a "sweetaholic", I add a packet of stevia (AKA Truvia, but I prefer the Whole Foods brand of stevia) to my raspberry water and it tastes like a healthier version of raspberry Kool-Aid!

If you are looking for a medium sized pitcher with good looks and functionality, this is the pitcher for you. Continue reading below for my pros and cons regarding the Bormioli Chiller.
Pros:
*The chiller looks very nice. It's compact and easily fits in the second shelf in my fridge
*Hard glass; definitely made of quality glass--not the cheap ones that seem like they'll break with a slight tap of your nails.
*Ice Container is a very nice feature. Fill the plastic tube with as many ice cubes as will fit; your drinks will be cold w/out being watery
*Drinks pour our easily w/out spilling unto your floors or whereever else, just be careful not to pour too fast or naturally it'll spill
Cons:
*As advertised, the components are plastic, i.e the white lid cover, stirrer (I recall one reveiwer mentioning they never received it, well it was supplied with the pitcher)and plastic ice tube.
*unlike the good quality glass, i felt the plastic was cheap and flimsy; guess you can't have everything in one product
*Handle is short and I wish it was longer
Overall I gave this pitcher a 4 b/c of the cons and also b/c it appeared larger in the picture or maybe it was me. In any case, this is a great picher for a single person or very small family. I definitely recommend buying this and keeping your drinks cold this summer! Enjoy.

(More customer reviews)I've given the pitcher four stars because it meets my needs as far as capacity, durability and appearance. It would have gotten five stars if the instructions gave clear directions on how to use the lid and if the handle, as other reviewers have pointed out - wasn't so close to the pitcher, making it awkward to pour. Contrary to some reviewer's comments, I haven't had any problem with spillage when beverages are poured.
I purchased the pitcher even though there were some very critical reviewer comments about the lid. At the time, I discounted them, figuring the reviewer's weren't following instructions. After spending an hour or more fruitlessly trying to get the lid to work, I was angry and frustrated. The next day, I took the lid apart and studied how the lid/pitcher seal was supposed to be made, and that was when I discovered, more or less by accident, the secret to making the lid work. Since then the lid has worked just fine (by the way, the lid must be removed prior to pouring).
Here's the technique: With the center piece screwed into the outer piece and in the open position (that is, the center piece bar is resting against the "open" tab on the top of the outer piece), pull the rubber ring over the bottom edge ridge so it rides in the groove formed where the ridge meets the bottom of the outer piece. The next step is crucial (yet isn't described in the instructions - an unforgivable omission given the complaints about the lid failing to seal properly). Holding the outer piece of the lid by its serrated edge, place the lid on to the top of the pitcher so the rubber ring is in full contact with the top of the pitcher rim, then rotate it clockwise while gently but firmly pushing down on it until the bottom of the outer lid piece is in complete contact with the pitcher's rim. The rubber ring is now deep enough into the pitcher to form a tight seal with the side of the pitcher when the center is rotated clockwise a half turn to the closed position (to the "closed" tab), causing the rubber ring to expand outward and create a strong seal. You'll find that at room temperature, the rubber ring will encounter some resistance as it is pushed into position prior to closing; however, when cold (after sitting in the refrigerator) there is no resistance. You'll be amazed at how easy the lid works when the ring and glass are cold.
