(More customer reviews)2 years after my original review the juicer is still working well. You will need a little more muscle to juice carrots if carrots are hard but the work is worth the juice you receive.
You get what you pay for is very real with juicers. I have been juicing for more than 10 years and have graduated from centrifical force juicers to masticating to the Green Power. It is everything it says it is. My family juices daily. This juicer is definitely quieter than all other juicers we have used. The juice has less pulp than other juicers we have used as well a better tasting juice (even with mediocre carrots). Cleaning the juicer is the easiest of all juicers we have had. (That's worth the extra bucks). If you're a serious juicer go to the top of the line. You won't be disappointed.

(More customer reviews)I have had many juicers and was happy. But since I received my Greenstar 3000, I have no idea how I have lived without it. I look forward toward juicing and using this juicer every morning, noon or whatever time daily. My diet has greatly improved and my getting a variety of greens into my diet has greatly increased. This unit juices anything you want to. I have lost 23 pounds since I received my juicer by incorporating it into my diet plan. Love making my own nut butters, milks, sorbets, ice cremes, etc. All are healthy and good for me and taste great to booth. I do not care what anybody else thinks of this unit, it is worth the cost to me as just I beleive my health is worth the effort. It is easy to use, comes with many attachments, very quiet. I do not mind cleaning it even when I am in a hurry as the unit is now part of my family...Me , my wife, and my Greenstar!

Green Star Elite GSE-5000 Juicer Extractor Review

(More customer reviews)I am writing this because I had SO much difficulty finding more than a handful of customer reviews online when trying to find a juicer.
My family has been juicing for years now with a popular-brand centrifugal juicer. My stepdad was diagnosed with cancer and we started researching the Gerson Therapy. This juicer is NOT recommended for the Gerson Therapy, but their system is so complicated and expensive we decided to compromise. We went with a twin-gear because it's a much better juicer than a centrifugal but it's not nearly as much trouble as a 2-stage press system.
Anyway, we love it. We estimate we're getting twice as much juice per-veggie than we did with the centrifugal juicer. We juice at least 4 times per week (for 3 people) so we're thinking the price difference will easily be paid in a year just from the savings on produce.
It's also easier to clean than our old one. The hardest part to clean is the mesh screen... it has some tight corners that the pulp really gets jammed into, but after cleaning it a couple times it gets much faster. The rest of the parts are easy.
I haven't experienced any of the design flaws that the other reviewer mentioned. I mention that review specifically because it almost talked me out of getting this juicer, but I'm glad I decided to go ahead anyway. No juice has leaked out in any weird areas. The only part of the safety hood on mine that got dirty was the top tray around the feed chute, which is easily rinsed off. Some pulp gets into the area immediately around where the gears attach, but that can be cleaned with a squeeze of water from the sponge and a quick wipe-off. No juice got out any other areas.

(More customer reviews)This was my first juicer, so I have no basis for comparison except what the manufacturer claims. You cannot juice wheatgrass with this, that is a blatant lie. you will get so much more foam than juice you will wish that you had driven to a juice bar and paid for them to do it, plus now you have to clean it again.
It juices things like carrots, jicama, green leaves and celery very well. The tougher and harder the veggie, the better this thing is. It absolutely cannot juice things like citrus, tomatoes, and even most apples will cause it to clog up quickly. It is so so at juicing cucumber. It is recommended that if you need to juice apples or cukes, switch off with a piece of carrot to push it all through.
I tried making almond butter several times, and it comes out looking like bread crumbs. I ran it through a bunch of times, and eventually it resembled almond "dough", cetrainly nothing creamy that could be called "almond butter" by any definition.
Cleaning it seems like a chore. I believe there are six pieces you can simply rinse off, and then there is the screen which you must scrub with the included brush. This is a total pain, and if you need to replace the brush or any other parts, they are very pricey. Oh and this machine weighs like 30 pounds!
My intent is not to bring anyone down with a lot of negativity, it's just that this was my experience and the reviews I have read didn't really paint the whole picture.
