The Kitchen Aid uses a coupler on top of the motor which spins the blade that's made out of rubber over metal which will break if you make lots of frozen fruit drinks. That's what I had happen.
The Waring uses the same type of design, but the difference is that you can buy a replacement ($5.95) and put it on yourself with a wrench If it were to ever come apart. The Kitchen Aid has to be serviced, take apart the motor to get to it from the inside etc.
This Waring Blender is very powerful! It's loud and spins very fast. Which makes it blend in a fraction of the time of others. It makes my old Kitchen-Aid seem like a childs toy in comparison.
It's much more obviously commercial through heft, simplicity of design and function and servicability.
It has only 2 speeds. Professional chefs say that's all you need. it has a simple toggle switch, no multiple speed electronic gimmics. Just very functional.
I originally really wanted a glass container. It provided some heft to my old Kitchen-Aid and I thought that it was a sign of higher quality.
For a commercial application you would prefer the unbreakable quality of the polycarbon plastic as well as the lack of weight. It's light as a feather.
I was also concerned that the blade being permenantly mounted inside the container would be hard to clean. (actually you can take it apart with a deep socket and extension, not for cleaning but blade replacement). My Kitchen Aids came apart for cleaning and I could put it in the dishwasher. I find the cleaning instruction are easy with the Waring, actually simple to clean you should just do it right away once your done mixing. Less time to clean and assemble.
What I see now with comparing this to the kitchen-Aid besides what I've already mentioned, is that the Kitchen-Aid looks simple through it's visual design. It's over designed through what appear to be valuable features which only make it more complicated. You have to do more work from cleaning, assembling and servicing.
The Waring on the other hand is bare bones functional. It was designed to blend and be easily serviced and quickly cleaned.

(More customer reviews)OK, like me for some reason you decided you wanted a food processor. Why? Who knows. Let's be honest, most stuff you need to slice up can easily be chopped using a knife. A good Santuko knife will do the job; but like Tim Taylor you want more power. If that's your need then this is a great machine. It comes with every blade you could ever want. It slices cucumbers well but so does a knife. Anyway, don't waste huge bucks on a big name machine when you can waste them on this one and be happy. It slices up everything and unless you are stupid beyond belief, you can't slice up your fingers. If nothing else it makes great bread dough. Pizza time. Hey, it really does a great job with pepperoni for that pizza, Much better than a Santuko. Come on, do you really have money to waste? If so, then waste it on this model.

It takes quite a while to clean it, so it is not very useful in the morning before work along with my regular morning routine. I wish I had bought the Jack Lalanne version or a Vita Mix blender. Oh well, too late.

Oster 3157 400-Watt Single-Speed Juice Extractor Review

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a small, inexpensive juicer today that I can use for a couple of months while I'm away from home and found the Oster juicer at my local store. I'd never heard of the brand before but at under $50 it seemed like a bargain. So I grabbed a bag of veggies and dashed back to give it a whirl.
The mouth where you push the veggies through is a decent size but you will need to slice most veggies at least once before you can fit them in. No big deal, takes about 2 minutes to do the whole lot. The motor is really strong and had no trouble chewing through carrots and beets. It has a decent size pulp catcher that's quick and easy to take off when you need to empty it.
I also like the fact that there is not a huge amount of space between the blade and the plastic thing that's used to push the veggies/fruit down, so small bits don't get stuck in the gap like some previous brands I've used.
There's not much bad I can say about it, given the size and price. If you're a big time juicer and will use a machine daily you might want to get a larger capacity juicer or one that can fit whole fruits and veg in. If you're new to juicing, will only use it once or twice a week or don't want to fork out for pro juicer then I'd definitely consider this, you really can't go wrong.

(More customer reviews)I was a little concerned about how this juicer would measure up to our stronger wattage one which was heavy to lift down from an upper cupboard, the pitcher was way too large, and the pitcher handle had broken off. I like the compact size of this model, and it has NO problem efficiently juicing oranges for OJ or lemons for recipes that require juice. I only have an electric juicer because my wrists are sensitive (everyone who uses a keyboard too much should avoid the repetitive movements required with an old-fashioned glass juicer). Am very satisfied with this Oster 3186.
