Organic Sprouting Seeds Radish Mix 1 Pound Daikon Radish and Red Rose Radish Review

Organic Sprouting Seeds Radish Mix 1 Pound Daikon Radish and Red Rose Radish

These seeds are reasonably priced and germinate well. Growing them straight, they are a bit too spicy for my taste, so I mix my seeds with broccoli and alfalfa. They're excellent for many purposes including salads, sandwiches and bagel toppings. If you've only had alfalfa sprouts, you're missing the boat. Radish and broccoli sprouts (among others) at home can supply you with your own home-grown organic vegetables over the winter, saving you money and trips to the store, while having fresh tasty and healthy vegetables conveniently growing in your kitchen. For a Japanese salad treat, try radish sprouts with a dash of soy sauce or ginger salad dressing, it's a great side dish with sushi.
The seeds are organic and clean (I didn't see any pebbles or dirt in the bag), shipping was fast, and no excessive packaging was used. Just a good weight polyethylene bag with a twist tie, and a paper label.

While the lentil seeds sprouted just fine, I ended up with only about half an order due to poor packaging.
I did complain to the Sprout House but heard nothing back. I'll do my seed buying at the store from now on,
I guess.

I am a devoted fan of sprouts, so I thought I would try the speckled peas. They were okay, but you need to steam them briefly to bring out their flavor. Since I like the raw sprouts better, I'll only give them a rating of 3.

Being as I planted three packages of cactus all about the same time there maybe some confusion as to seed packages being attached to the correct pot. But so far I have not discovered anything, so I am back to patiently waiting.

Opuntia is a genus in the cactus family Cactaceae. The name Opuntia comes from the name of a Greek city. Both prickly pears (padded types) and chollas (cylindrical types) are included in this genus of about 300 species. Opuntia is a very large genus, varying in size from 2 inches tall miniature plants to 100 feet tall trees. They are native from Canada, to Chile and Argentina. Opuntias are an easy group of cacti to grow.
They grow in sections, any of which can be removed and rooted to start a new plant. The pads are actually modified branches or stems that serve several functions: water storage, photosynthesis and flower production. But members of the Opuntia genus are unique because of their clusters of fine, tiny, barbed spines called glochids. Found just above the cluster of regular spines, glochids are yellow or red in color and detach easily from the pads.
Opuntias often have large, colorful flowers. The fruits of most prickly pears are edible and sold in stores under the name "tuna." Prickly pear branches (the pads) are also cooked and eaten as a vegetable. They too are sold in stores under the name "Nopalito."
Hardiness zones 9-11, (-5°C/25°F, 4°C/40°F). In the spring and summer the soil should become fairly dry between waterings. The plant should be given a deep drink at this time, to the extent that the water runs out the bottom of the pot. In winter, it is best to water only enough to keep the plants from shriveling. Opuntia grow best where they receive at least 4 hours of sunlight daily, but they will grow fairly well in bright indirect light indoors. In the spring and summer, Opuntias prefer night temperatures of 65°F to 70°F and daytime temperatures of 75°F to 85°F. Use a normal cactus soil.

Prickly Pear Cactus 15 Seeds-Opuntia ficus Review

This seller is a liar. I said in a review that the shipping was to expensive for the terrible quality of the seeds. Four broken dead seeds you could get for free from outside, which they did. Not a real packaged guaranteed seed company...and this is what they said "i saw the bad feedback. the extra shipping charge is for the tracking info. when i sell on amazon, i have to have it or i dont get paid.please consider removing the bad feedback when you get a chance, it would really mean alot to me " if that's the case how does anyone with free shipping ever get paid? How do sellers who don't provide tracking information get paid? They didn't even end the email with their name and/or a closing message. How rude and unprofessional! Don't buy from them...their product is a rip off and bad quality and they are incompetent!! And... Who cares if that would mean alot to them? A better product and professional customer service would mean alot to me, and I didn't get that so why should they? I wish I could leave negative stars!

CACTUS: Cactus, the common name for a family of desert plants. The plural is cacti or cactuses. Most species bear sharp, needlelike spines, which protect the plants from foraging desert animals. Cacti are famed for their ability to resist drought, which they owe to the fact that moisture from inside the plant evaporates very slowly through the plant's skin.
Cacti grow in hundreds of different shapes. The fibrous, juicy stems may be globular, cylindrical, branched, trailing and vinelike, ribbed, grooved, or knob-bearing. Only two species have true leaves. The rest of the 2,000 species are leafless.
The Prickly Pear cactus can grow up to 15 feet high. With fleshy stems in the form of paddles, the cactus is covered in prickles that are actually leaves reduced to minimum size in order to retain water. The fruit, which is very sweet, succulent, and good to eat, originates from spectacular, large flowers that appear at the beginning of summer. Grow in well drained rocky/sandy soil. Water thoroughly, then let dry for several weeks, outside in the ground or in large containers, before watering again. While the Prickly Pear is hardy in zones 8 to 10, farther north it can be container grown for many years and brought indoors for the winter. It makes an excellent house plant in a sunny window. The cactus' large pads are used in Mexico as "nopales" or "nopalitos tiernos" for the young pads, or "tunas" for the large yellow-red fruits. Nopales make a very good salad. Cut the young tender pads "nopalitos tiernos" into strips, being sure first to cut away the spines. Mix with chopped onions, chopped chives or green onions, chopped chiles such as jalapenos or serranos, chopped garlic, oregano, and a little salt. Toss with a couple dashes of lime juice, a little olive oil and red wine vinegar, and chill before serving.
