I actually own the Geo Terracotta Sprouter (1/2 the price) but same concept, they look very similiar. I got my Geo Terracotta sprouter 1 year ago. It is lovely and not too big but produces a fair amount of sprouts. I use it all the time, esp. in winter during which it supplies our main source of fresh greens. It works great. The sprouts grow happily! Each tier has small holes to allow water to drain, these can get clogged when using small seeds, so I sprout on paper towels. The clay gets wet and stays wet awhile and that helps keep the seeds/sprouts moist without overwatering. The trays are harder to clean than plastic, but a toothbrush, soap, and elbow grease cleans it just fine. If seeds get stuck in the small holes you can poke them out. I soak the trays in mild bleach solution every other time I use it, then air dry to keep it sparkly clean. It has darkened a bit over the year of use but since it is untreated clay I expected that. Anyway, clay has varying levels of antimicrobial properties, helping to keep bacteria from growing on the surface of the clay. Bottom line, LOVE IT! AND BONUS - NOT PLASTIC!! (I won't sprout in anything else).

You are purchasing the Miracle Exclusives terra cotta sprouter. Easy to use without any plastc out-gasing.TERRA COTTA SPROUTERSImported from Germany. The Sprout House now carries terra cotta sprouters imported from Germany for your sprouting needs.PLEASE NOTE THESE DIMENSIONS:The ME60 measures 6 inches high. The sprouting trays themselves measure about 5.5 inches in diameter. It consists of five parts: a lid, three perforated sprouting dishes that stack neatly on top of one another, and a slightly larger bottom bowl which holds the three sprouting dishes. The sprouter is made of untreated clay and the bottom bowl is glazed on the inside with lead-free glaze.Conditions in the sprouter are very similar to natural conditions in the soil: the pores in the clay sprouting dishes provide for good ventilation and the clay's ability to absorb water assures uniform moisture without actually immersing the seeds in water. The darkness inside the terra cotta sprouter intensifies the flavor of the sprouts. In a taste test held by the Study Group for Nutritional Research in Bad Liebenzell, sprouts grown in clay sprouters were preferred without exception. If you prefer to eat watercress, alfalfa and other sprouts when they are green and rich in chlorophyll, simply open the lid and place the sprouter in the light a day or so before you plan to eat the sprouts.Due to the nature of shipping these delicate terra cotta sprouters, shipping is charged separately. The terra cotta sprouters will be shipped under separate cover from the rest of the order and may take a few extra days.
