(More customer reviews)I got this for city walks up to 4 miles. 12 oz. is just enough for me for this purpose. For hiking I would use lighter plastic of a larger size. With glass I can put in any liquid without concerns about reactions with unknown steel from China or what's liable to leach out of plastic. The 'biner clip on the sheath is in a low position, making the flask ride horizontally whether full or empty. I removed it because it hangs up on the net water bottle sling I carry it in or the pocket in my backpack. You get 2 plastic lids of the type found on plastic commercial bottles. The bottom rim will soon tear away from the lid just like when you open a commercial water bottle, leaving a white collar around the neck. The lid does not leak. The sheath appears sturdy and protective. I wish it came with a lid that was more substantial and attached to the neck, and a plastic suspension piece at the top so it would hang vertically on a belt loop.
